Season of Giving
Stamp Paints prides ourselves on being a community-minded business. We find that when we care for our neighbors and protect our planet, we are able to better serve our clients and still be profitable. Corporate citizenship is one of our core values. Every quarter we use our time, talent and treasure to support causes that impact our local community and beyond.
This year Josh and Kayleigh focused their collective efforts on several local non-profits: Genesee Land Trust, University of Rochester, Avenue Black Box Theatre, RocCity Coalition, Triangle Merchants Association, Center for Youth, Sojourner Home, and NextGen Rochester at The Community Foundation. We helped launch a new Happy Hour Hike program and led a tour through the beautiful Turning Point Park. We sponsored a student-created mural at the newly formed Barbara J. Burger iZone. We painted overtime to finish walls at a new theatre with a ribbon cutting deadline. We chaired an organization focused on attracting, retaining and empowering young Rochesterians. We organized a new effort to promote collaboration and provide greater access to already existing programs around inclusion, diversity and equity. We rallied with our fellow merchants and residents to strengthen relationships and solve neighborhood problems. We donated to the opening of a new homeless shelter for LGBTQ+ youth. We supported many other local non-profits through our giving to organizations like The Community Foundation and United Way. And later this month we will also be volunteering alongside other painting colleagues to refresh the residence halls at a local homeless shelter for women and children.
We have budget money left from our successful first year in business to support one more cause in a meaningful way. We hope you will help us select an organization for a $200 donation by filling out the form below. Anyone is eligible to vote, so please share this link with your friends. Each individual may vote once. The winner will be announced on December 4th.
The team at Stamp Paints is torn between four local organizations:
Josh's vote is for Teen Empowerment
They employ, train, and empower youth to create peace, equity, and justice. Our donation will be unrestricted so the youth can pick the program that needs the most attention.
Kayleigh's vote is for the Landmark Society
They protect the unique architectural heritage of our region and promote preservation & planning that fosters healthy, livable, and sustainable communities. Our donation will be directed to workshops that train painters and similar tradespeople in historic preservation practices.
Token's vote is for Cracker Box Palace
They are a no kill haven with an all-volunteer rescue team. Animals come to recover from illness, neglect or abuse. The majority of animals served are farm animals, but they also offer classes to educate the public on humane treatment for animals of all kinds. Our donation will be directed to youth programming.
Dixie's vote is for Willow Domestic Violence Center
They are the only New York State certified domestic violence service provider serving Monroe County, NY. Their mission is to prevent domestic violence and ensure every survivor has access to the services and supports needed along the journey to a safe and empowered life. Our donation will be directed to the pet program that allows survivors to heal by keeping their pets with them during their stay at the shelter.
